So you don't have a dial test indicator, or other dial indicator that you could use to measure the actual travel?
You may want to put in some code for a finish pass, to make sure some of your inaccuracy isn't machine/tool bending.

I do not have a dial test indicator...maybe worth a trip to the store this weekend.
Was counting on the cncfusion setup to reduce backlash to a point I didn't need to worry about it.
Another source of backlash is the preload on the thrust bearings for the ballscrews. I wonder how they have done this, and if it is easy to adjust?
A dial test indicator is always useful to have. You need it to dial in a vise accurately as well, so it is worth getting one. They can be had for around $30 if you don't mind one of the made in China variety.
