    Question about Micrometer prices

    Hi,
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I was going to post an ad for my mom, but wanted to get a ballpark figure before I did. My dad was a machinist, but he passed away a little over 10 years ago. My mom finally got to cleaning her garage and found a bunch of my dad's tools. I told her I'd try to help her sell some of them, but I honestly have no clue what these tools are used for or how much they're worth.

The item in looking to sell is a Micrometer 0-12" set. The set is practically brand new. Only a few of the pieces were taken out of the wrapper. In all, there's 29 pieces. 12x Micrometer, 11xRods?, 6 small wrenches. There isn't a brand anywhere to be found. It came in a big wooden box that says "Micrometer 0-12" - Made in China".

Sorry to say that they will not have much value. If they were brand names like Starret etc it would be a different story. You can go to ENCO as they sell a lot of imported tools and get some idea what to expect

An import set like that can be bought for about &250-$300 brand new. Even though your fathers set still has some still in the new wrapper, they are used. I'd say $200 would be fair for that set.

    Thanks you!

    Monte55 & 109Jb,
Thanks for the info! That definitely helps alot. I'm glad I asked because I was going to post it on ebay for much more than $200.

    I really appreciate it.
