Hi guys, sadly im back with another issue..old PC fried. So i built a new one but it didn't have a parallel port integrated to mother board, so i got a pci card, installed drivers...ran it with every option i but mt gave but cant get to communicate with cnc..any pointers?

Check in your bios to see if there is a setting for serial and parallel devices.

Your newly installed card should fall into either LPT1 or LPT2 (choose LPT1), assuming they don't exist.

If you don't, the default port listings in Mach need to reflect the IO port settings for LPT3.

In Mach3 set port1 port address to 0xEC00
The same as in your parallel port properties screen shot

I have a pcmia parallel port card in a notebook
It came up as port 3 and the port address was 0x5000
It took me a few minutes to figure that out in mach3

worked like a charm after that
