    Talking CNC Newbie question G53.5

    I have a Mazak Mazatrol programming manual which I am reading, and I have become confused by the diagram depicting G53.5 (Mazatrol coordinate system). The questions I need answering are.....
    What is the 'Mazatrol co-ordinate system zero point?' Is this set by Mazak?
    What is meant by 'reference work piece zero point' as oppose to just 'work piece zero point?'

    Hope you guys can help!

    Basically workpiece coordinate system is G54 - G59
    But on Mazak < turning or integrex machine > you're setting workpiece coordinate system is available on G54 - G55 and G53.5 < mazatrol coordinate setting >
    G54 - G59 you can see on work offset
    G53.5 = Set up info < Z, C, etc >

    I hope this is help you

    For lathes, my only mazatrol experience.
    G53.5 X and Y are on the spindle centerline. Z and C are entered on the setup page or can be set with G53.5 Z# C#

    Where on the machine... Z0.0 is close to the main spindle but I'm not sure how it is defined in the parameters. IE. Z# from machine home ect. I generally just use teach with a tool to set my part position.
