Want to keep the chip conveyor from coming on automatically. We mostly cut coatings and do not make alot of chips and we are losing coolant into chip bin. Is there a parameter that will disable the conveyor?

unplug it or disconnect it
Too much trouble to hit the little stop button marked "Chip Conveyor" on the main panel?
Thanks for the obvious guys. If I disconnect I get a thermal overload from the Siemens timer. If I change bit 3 on parameter R20 to 1 it will disable the auto on feature but there are no plain R parameters I can find. I am the programmer/supervisor and have multiple operators on this machine. With their limited capabilities it is apparently too much trouble for them to hit the off button on the machine with every cycle start.
Add timers to the system. One for OFF time and one for ON time. I set the OFF timer to 17 minutes and the on timer to 3 minutes so it runs 3 times per hour 9 minutes total. You could set the OFF timer to 60 and the on timer to 1 if you wanted to keep it to a minimum. Any machine tool repair company could do this for around $500.00.
Does your chip conveyor run off an inverter? If so, reprogram it to run at an extremely slow speed.
Thanks so much for your help. The machine does have timer parameters. I will alter those and get back to you. The machine is somewhat confusing in the respect that I have rl, rm, and rs parameters but no plain r parameters.
Thank you, sir.
On mazak QT 250M-II it was parameter RB20 Bit3 had to be a 1.
Parameter to enable timers. RB20 Bit 6=1
TIM40 = cycle time
TIM48 = time conveyor is on.
Mine is setup like this
TIM40=1200 = 120 seconds
TIM48=150 = 15 seconds
so out of every 120 seconds my converyor is on for 15 secs.
This is on my Nexus 250-II M matrix control.
Light goes on and off but not the conveyor.
What else is missing.
Thanks
The timer will cycle and light up the conveyor switch, but unless you hit the button, It won't come on/off.
I tried that but the conveyor won't move.
what machine and control is yours? might be different then.
this is all I had to do.
RB20 Bit 3=1 conveyor will be set to ON/OFF state with the push of the button. the light will still come ON/OFF every time you hit cycle start.
RB20 Bit 6=1 turns the timers ON
TIM40= 1200
TIM48= 150
Matrix nexus
from my electrical cabinet in back of machine. what chip conveyor do you have?
