simulating a cable between moving parts in solidworks assembly

    Hi,

I have a solidworks assembly with a moving stage and am trying to model a cable between the moving and fixed parts. I have tried creating a part with sketches constrained to both moving and fixed sections, however when dragging the moving part in solidworks, the sketch doesn't update until I manually hit rebuild.

Is there a better approach for doing this? one that will make the cable path update in real-time?

    Use a chain/belt relationship.
