First thing I noticed, haha
First thing I noticed, haha
I already owned a Colinbus CNC router (Elektor advertised) - mainly used for PCB fabrication (I make my own home automation system and electronics for my H0 modelrailroad layout),
and a 50W CO2 laser (mainly used for creating H0 buildings in cardboard and acrylic housings/nameplates etc ...
Recently I got a HBM 250x550 lathe and a HBM BF-25 mill. (Which I'm currently converting to CNC)
(Both devices will be mainly used to build live-steam locomotives)
So, I had to upgrade my workshop, here are some pictures ...
This is what you see when you enter the workshop:
My self-made, magnetic, lighted, whiteboard:
(also note, Mach3 PC already running)
The blue lights are RGB LEDstrips, so I can change the colors :-)
All other lighting is dimmable (even the TL's)
My Colinbus Profiler CNC router. The 2 red toolcabinets are full with accesories for my lathe and BF25 mill.
I did put a LEDstrip above the tool-cabinets, so the light shines directly in the drawers, when opened :-)
View from the other side:
The blue thing on the left, is a self-made propeller clock: An arm with LEDs on it, rotates so fast, and blinks the LEDs, so you get the illusion that a clock appears in mid-air. (It's hard to take pictures of such a device)
My Lathe:
The electronics workbench, with drill-press and CO2 laser cnc:
Electronics worksbench from the other side. Hardly visible in the picture: my lab powersupply, electronic soldering station, oscilloscope, logic analyser, PIC & AVR programmers/debuggers ...
I bought some 5.2 NM steppers, stepper-drivers, power supplies and breakout board. (I already have a dividing table, stepper & driver for my 4th axis)
A few weeks ago, I discovered SolidWorks. After following 4 of the 13 official tutorials, (spread over 2 evenings for a few hours), I skipped the rest of the tutorials, and decided it was time to start drawing parts/assembly for my BF25 CNC conversion.
Here is a picture of the parts to connect a stepper to my y-axis:
Best regards from Belgium,
Kris

My Shop Pics
One back room has the Plasma, cnc mill, and hidden behind the corner of wall is the welding table.

Other room has entry door, and is more or less my home away from homeFridge, arcades, infrared heat, even added a couch since this pic

Rest is more or less open to accumulate clutter
