There is no good explanation.
Just one of the many nuances of Bobcad that is gonna get it removed from my machine and replaced with something good.

The issue has to do with the step over required to create this. When you specify a boundary, you are setting an allowable area for cutting. Without a boundary, the software is calculating an expected allowable area. You can also use a bottom of job to to force the tool path to go further down or setting your extents to bottom of part.

I view such threads to further my knowledge... I may run into this mis-understanding of how the software works later down the road. Just because I viewed it doesn't mean I have the answer...
