    hot motors stalling

My motors sometimes stall when they are hot/have been running for a while. I am still not sure if its software or motors but has anyone experenced this. they are also running close to there stall rpm.

I dont have current set resistors on the motors as i didnt think i needed them but maybe this will help keep the motor cooler when the motors sit idol?

Any other options for cooling would a fan on the back end help.

My motors have never stalled ... yet .... but they do get hot and it has been on my mind ever since. They are factory installed so I ave no clue as to how or what they have to deal with the issue. I do plan on installing cooling fans for the simple fact that heat kills. I purchased a set of 3 cooling fans for a computer... never installed them and now think I will use the outlet air (filtered) from the chip collection blower. Anyway I'm interested in the answers you get here.

You need to install the resistors. That will reduce the holding current, lowering the temperature of the steppers. The Geckos should have a resistor even if they are running at maximum current.

You may actually need a fan on the G540, if it's getting hot.

Right i get the resistors. It hasn't done it for a while, i removed some USB extension device that might have been causing the problem.
