Anyone have any trouble running with the parts counter? It registers each part but will not run continuous.
Ideas?
Thanks,
-Mike

how are you ending your program. if you end with a M30 it will only run on part I put a M99 or a GOTO at the bottom to loop back to the top.
I have M99 at the bottom and it runs continuous but it still disregards the parts counter. It will count each part but it will not stop until the machine alarms out when it finishes the bar. Ideally with the job currently in there running 5 parts at a time is key.
I think that a parameter sets what trips the part counter.
if you go to your settings page there is a place to set parts required do you have that set to the amount you want to run
Yes, parts required is set and parts count is 0. I have tried the following codes at the end of the program.
M30 at the end of program.
M99 at end of program.
M54 and M99 at end of program.
When you say it counts parts do you mean the lathe or the bar feeder I ask because you say in your last post that the count on the settings page was zero. if the lathe is not counting go to Parameter 6710 and look and see what number is in there if you want to count off your M99 put 99 in this Parameter

6710 is set to M54
I had set the parts required to 5 and it will count the parts made but it wont stopat 5 it will keep going, 6 ,7 ,8 until the bar is done.
I am a little confused reading my book now only thing I can think of now is to put the amount of parts you want in Parameter #6712 if that dont work hopfuly someone will jump in and correct us.
Ill give that a try, the service guy should be in today some time ill post if anything changes.
We have an Older Puma 2000Y, not sure if the 2100 is different, but just a
M55 is required prior to M30. Then the machine will stop When the "part count" is made. Hopefully it's the same on yours.
Turns out M54 right before an M99 is what it needed. But apparently the M30 code initiates the barfeeder, so that now has to be changed since we need to use M99 to run continuous.
Thanks for all the help everyone sorry for the late reply.
try to program
M55
M99
M55 looks like M30 (for counting parts) but program is still running continiously.
good luck
