X700 died half way through a job?

    Hi All,

half way through a cutting job today and my Redsail laser tube stopped, coolant temp had been at a constant 17 degrees.........simply the tube is not firing. Everything else seems normal....just no light in the tube.

I have checked the water flow is fine, disconnecting the water flow lead from the chiller and I can hear the noise the psu makes changes.....likewise when I switch off the laser tube switch.....so I don't think it is the coolant.
I shorted out the cover microswitch just the rule that out.

Any ideas what else I can check? Has the tube died? Psu? there were no signs that anything was amiss before it stopped working. The machine is almost exactly a year old and has only had light use.

    Thanks

    John

    Hi John!

I saw your letter here, and I want to ask, that what was the problem?
For me it happens still the same.
Was working and the laser stopped.
What you write here, everything is the same.
Bought a new laser tube, but still not works.
It is possible, that its a type error?
The machine is only half year old.
    Please tell me your experience.
    Waiting and thanks your answer.

There is a really resource for fixing these types of problems. Rabbit Laser USA started making a FAQ list... And it turned more into a full database of how to fix problems with the Chinese laser machines. I think your situation falls right in line with the "my laser does not produce light" problem. The FAQ steps you thru checking all the safety switches, chiller connection, water flow sensor, failing power supply, analog signal from controller...
My laser does not produce light.. My Laser does not "fire". What is wrong? How do I fix the laser to make it fire?

It is worth checking out their FAQ site if you are having any questions.
