    Unhappy G540 Stripped Trimpot

    G540 Rev 5 and Mach3 new setup.
    I stripped Z axis trimpot.
How do I swap with A axis. do i have to physically change drives or just software settings.

    Thanks
    Bob

Yes you need to swap the stepper to the non-damaged drive, and also re-configure the port pin referenced for the axis in Mach3. Did you download the xml file from Gecko's site to make config easier?

    cheers, Ian

If you open the G540 case, (carefully pry up the corners) you can physically swap the drives by removing 2 screws. Easy Peasy. You could even leave out the damaged drive and send it to Gecko for repair.

I did not realize how easy it was to take apart.
    I swaped the A & Z axis.
Left the bad drive out, will try to return for repair when i get
everything up and running. I might screw up something else.

    Thank You
    Bob
