You need to "post process" the apt through a post that is specific for your machine. There are several standalone products that allow you to configure post processors interactively and will do the post processing. They are not cheap.
A good one is : http://www.austinnc.com/

Thanks for the link.
Have you ever heard or PostHaste? Check it out at:

I'm curious as to whether anyone has had success with their post as far as 5-axis is concerned.
We currently are using a post written for our Tri-tech (5-axis) head. However we are looking at a DMG 5-axis machine, and will therefore need a different post. I'm just exploring right now to see who's using what out in CNC land.
Thanks,
Dan
A shop I was working at had the Intercim product and it worked pretty well for 5 axis. I didnt do the 5ax programmin but the guy who did was able to create posts in intercim that worked well. He created half a dozen 4 axis posts and 2 or 3 5 axis posts.
If you are only concerned with 1 machine then having a post written for you is probably worth the investment. But if you forsee multiple machines, one of the post building products may be worth a look.
I-Cam is another product, but I have no first hand knowlege of it.

If you're working with APT "CLFiles" as produced by a CAM system, you need a postprocessor as already mentioned. If you have programs written in the APT language (big difference), you need an APT processor like PC-APT, plus a postprocessor.

Thanks for the replys.
I am producing APT files directly from Rhino, using a 5-axis programming plug-in that I wrote in Visual Basic.
I will look into the Intercim and I-cam products.
