hello all,
i have 2.2 kw 1 phase ac spindle motor which has to be driven by 3 phase vfd (inverter). can anyone please tell about the connections?
also if i directly connect the motor with rated 220v 50hz supply, what may be the result?

!ph motor cannot be driven from 3phase inverter.
You need a 3ph motor.
Is this a Capacitor start and cap run split phase motor?
If it is a 220v rated motor, it should connect OK using 220v supply direct.
What is the details on the motor plate?

thanx for reply,
i have solved by following practice:
i have used one of the three phases available from drive, now it rotates according to freq setting.
the drive output is for delta connected motor, so i have to connect between any two phases, if it is star connection output(rarely found), i have to connect between any one phase and neutral.
thanx again.
if motor rotate in reverse direction, just change the phase selection say from u v w, use u-w or u-v pair the correct being decided by direction of motor rotation required.
What make/model of VFD is this?
Never heard of a 3ph and neutral output of a VFD?

Its kind of Hard to imagine the amount of time and effort that you've put into
sharing your insight over the last 10 years. ( 19,945 posts )
Most of these posts you are sharing information ,and for very little in return.
When you ask a question it's to gain more information, so a logical solution
might be figured out.
Maybe if you would have told him that that it would work,
he would have posted the information that you requested.
Keep up the good work.

I think you are right again!
But I would like to see him PROVE that you are wrong!
