Graphics screen quit on a KM5P max 32.
I understand the components of the text and graphic screens are different.
What is the best way to figure out what is wrong, with out causing damage?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Have you moved the mill recently ?
I would check all plugs to see if they are tight.
Then I would see if the filament in the CRT tube is illuminated. If not you have voltage failure of a bad CRT.
If it is lit , then a component failed
Can't help with trouble-shooting but if the monitor and circuit board are at fault
you can look at this guy

Thanks for the reply.
No recent moves
Did the uplug, clean, and plug connectors and boards.
I may have plugged the 10 pin, J55 connection on the driver backwards. The small fuse on the board blew,as well as some magic smoke leaking out.
Replaced the fuse, corrected the 10 pin connection.
I took the driver pcb out and inspected it for obvious damage.
Just wondering how to identify the bad parts....
Does the end of the tube glow?

I will not be at the machine til later. I will check it then.
Thanks
No glow at the end of the tube.
When mine did not glow I had to get a monitor. But not sure since the smoke got out

Rich,
Thanks for the tip.
Sent him an email.
Hope to hear something soon.
Put in a new resistor. End of tube now glows when powered up. Still no picture on graphics CRT
Has the CRT gone bad?
