FLOPPY DRIVE EMULATOR
excellent! I have a few spare paypal bucks lying around so I just bought one. I'll report back when I test it (I have OSP7000)
I've seen the generic versions of these. Just never saw one from Okuma or heard of anyone installing a generic version into there Okuma successfully.
its basically the same thing but being Okuma branded is has $2000 added to the price. probably no other differences
Any success with the emulator?
We have an osp7000 that the floppy drive just stopped working. Okuma wants almost as much to replace 3.5 drive as they do to upgrade to usb drive. We have 4 Okuma mills and 2 Okuma lathes. That can get really pricey!
Our MA400H recently had its flood damaged floppy replaced with the Okuma USB floppy emulator.
It works fine.
The system is set up to emulate 100 floppy drives.
The supplied USB memory was a Buffalo branded unit (they recommend only a handful of compatible makers) and is not a particularly satisfying thing to use.
It is actually a microSD card USB adaptor.
The fit is so tight into all the ports I've tried it in, that when you use the cord to remove it, the plastic housing comes off.
It is so small that you can't grip it with your fingers, so the cord is necessary!
Then while trying to pick it out with fingernails the SD card flies out.
After finding some needle nose pliers, I did get it out, and had to do the same thing again each time I needed to remove it.
yes I got it and it works fine.Any success with the emulator?

Did you purchase the emulator from ebay? If so how do you set the jumpers on the drive and are there any parameters (OSP 7000) that need to be changed?
I bought the floppy to USB but am unable to get it to work , getting error 337 floppy ready error when jumpers are set on anything other than JA and S0, any ideas ?
Here SD card to floppy converter:
No outward protrusions such as USB.
No any jumper at all.

We got one from amazon that had the same problem in both our Okuma mill and lathe. Ordered another one off ebay that worked. Then we tried to go cheaper and by the one that looked like the one that worked, and it turned out to be a different model.
Seems like the ones w/ a 3 digit display never work, but the one with 2 digit worked. The one we tried to order from amazon showed 2 digits, but we received the newer 3 digit one--didn't work.
The one that worked, search for ebay #300723408804
if control unit is OSP7000 , you must use 4 jumpers on MO,S1,JA and JB
if unit is U100, 2 jumpers on MO and JA
