Anyone ever get one of these X2 SuperTilt mills? I'm seriously considering it sure would be nice if someone else with more knowlege blazed the path already on CNC conversion and belt drive rpm increase (one would hope the LMS high speed belt kit would work on tis as well).
Been almost 3 years since I first mentioned those.

Haven't seen it mentioned since so popularity is certainly lacking.
You can get much more mill for that money.
Still wouldn't mind getting one if they were sold in the US for the fun factor.

That's the issue, not sold in the U.S. Yes you can get a bigger/more mill but in a mill THAT size, if that is a requirement, and it is for some, it is great. That said what ever mill you got.... there is ALWAYS something a little bit better.
One can get a "better" mill what ever that is, of course, but dang this one with 700W motor is sweet. If people do mini mills due to budget, then yes in that case this may make limited sense. I however want to do a mini due to space not budget.
If you haven't already check out the skyfire cnc mill.
SKYFIRE CNC
It's x2 sized but purpose built for cnc.

Indeed not a bad price at all.
Just heard from axminster.co.uk in case other ever need to know, shipping is an additional 560 Pounds or over $900 from UK to here. Not realistic with things like SKYFIRE CNC available at the same price after you compute shipping.
Good to know, thanks.

Hoss, I dug the mill project out of the box today. It seems someone thought that renovating the house was more important than my toys. Anyway, it looks like I haven't lost anything and the motors still turn, but I lost all my drawings when the old computer went to the great beyond. Am I too late to get the password for the DXF files?

Hey Hoss!
Amazing work! Is the password still available? If so, please and thank you! Got an X2 that is just waiting to get hacked! Keep bringing us new and exciting projects!
Which password? PM me which one you wanted.
X2 projects are no more, have moved on to the G0704.

Oh I know, and when I say keep bringing us new and exciting projects, I mean anything! All of your projects have been awesome to follow and see what you have come up with! Very inspiring!
Thanks, will do. PM sent.
Some G0704 projects can still work on the X2 like the vacuum chuck I just made.

Dear mister Hoss,
I just found this tread and was wondering if it is still possible to receive the plans.
Best regards,René
Salut megaspark, I believe he passed away. His old website is still on the internet and some plans can still be downloaded if you look carefully.
