Open builds.org has some content. Unless your ok with ordering components from China, start with a domestic supplier. They may also have designs

thanks for your help. im going to build a 130w laser with a working area of about 1000mm x 1000mm
any ideas are more than welcome.
There are no open source designs for a machine that large. I'd price out the components at lightobject.com vs a complete machine. I doubt that you can build cheaper then buy. Unless you go the 8020 route for the frame you will need access to metal fab machines. Good luck I'd like to hear what you find

HI mark.a ,
Build a machine by yourself is a interesrting thing, 1000*1000mm near model like :1200*900, etc.
during your building, any help can ask freely.

CNC lasers, constructions, service
i have already built a cnc router with a working area of 700mm x 700m. I made a lot of the parts from making templates and casting alluminum.
i also have a milling machine and lathe so i would actually be making most of the parts myself. i will keep you upto date on the build so far
the cost of the main electrical parts is around £1100.
I would like to see a build log in lasers. For some reason folks on this site would rather buy then make a laser cutter. I think there are a higher percentage of people using lasers in a business so they don't want to spend the time or risk downtime.
In fact building a machine gives you maximum knowledge of how it work and if something stops working you fix it. A machine from China offers little to no support. So going for it and post progress and questions along the way

Hi Cinema,
Is there any technical, professional argument behind your words, or you are just being extrusion racist.
Of course there is no problem at all with aluminium extrusion laser engravers/cutters, if they designed correctly.
Lasersaur is not so well-designed, indeed, but you can make a much better one.

Tele
PS: you have a nice vakuum-cleaner, can it sniff the soap-water up ?
