A1.
Whats the original D on the screw ?
Never go to a smaller screw, and if possible, always go for a thicker one.
Rigidity is everything, and rigidity goes up as screws get thicker.
A2: Yes.
The original screw is 15mm.
use 10 mm lead on the 48 long, 20 mm lead would ve ideal on 96 length... but 10 mm still good...
don't worry on accuracy mumbo jumbo.. doesn't matter on 8 feet length 1/100...
you cant measure on that length the difference.. you don't even can make part with that accuracy in a home shop..
additionally if you make one part, then your another part will match for the first..
instead tedeious calculations, use at least nema 34 motors... 900 oz on 48 and at least 1200 on the 96 length..
on Z pending of spindle, but at least 500 oz with 5 mm lead of screw.. these are working pairs..
Hi, can't quite understand your reply.
