Thank you Tweakie.
Thank you Tweakie.
thanks larry.. what bits do you use?? and do you use old coins or blanks??
The bits I use for finishing are like this
10 x 0 5mm Titanium Nitride Coated Carbide Micro Drill Bits 1 8"" CNC PCB Router | eBay
I use a .1mm for roughing, running them as fast as I can with my router (25000rpm) and just watch the feed to see how fast I can push it. As for the material, I have used old pennies, old nickels and old dimes as they are just base metal (you know what you have). I have done a lot of aluminum engraving 'cause HDs look great with stuff on the cases and brackets. Hope this helps you.
One thing you need to remember is that with bits this small lubricant is a necessity and clearing the chips is a must, but be careful 'cause the brush can break the cutter! LOL

P. S. Practice and patience help, don't be afraid to try something,, the worst that can happen is your out $0.10 or so!
