I've been very happy with the hybrid. It's done everything from big 3/4" MDF sheet to engraving and drilling printed circuit boards. I decided to give the old guy a few upgrades...

I made some upgrades to my hybrid. I upgraded my Y steppers to Nema 34 960 oz-in steppers. I also replaced the HDPE leadscrew boxes for the Y and A with steel square tube. I'm also planning to upgrade the X with Nema 34 and steel square tube. I also designed and built a racking detector (thanks to Kent for the driver circuit and input). This will estop mach 3 if the Y and A gantry screws get out of sync. This is to prevent damage to the machine. Yes it has happened to me...
