    KH 3020 laser problem

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I hope I'm posting in the right section. I've bought almost one month ago a KH 3020 CO2 laser on Amazon (one of those cheap laser cutters made in china). The laser itself works well, but every time I turn on the main power supply the laser head doesn't go in its "home" position but actually moves in a diagonal pattern toward the bottom/right corner (the zero should be in the top-left of the working area). Also, if you try to give it the reset command via software (laserDRW) it actually moves until the end of travel toward the bottom and the right corner (until it hits the wall). At first I was assuming that it could be travelling in the opposite direction due to a bad wiring on the stepper motors, but if you move the head via software it moves properly (albeit it always assume that the zero is wherever it stops after the wrong homing). The main board is an M2 nano and I'm using windows 8.1 to run the software, bit it doesn't go to its real home position even if there is no PC connected. I believe that the problem may be related to the parameters of the software I'm using. Has anyone of you experienced any problem like this in the past or has any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance.

Leetro/ Lasercut software has a load of settings which you can alter- from memory homing direction can be changed using P or R direction settings- essentially flipping the stepper + - or - +. These options are under the Worktable section of the options menu.

Auto homing isn't something you need to do but if you want to set it up the motor direction needs to head towards your X and Y limit switches- you are currently hitting the "wall" because your home/ datum settings are instructing the steppers to move away from the limit switches instead of towards them. The direction settings can only be set one of two ways so all you need to
do is find the right Options sub menu and change the direction from what it is now to the only other option given.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'm definitely a total noob so forgive my next questions: is Lasercut compatible with the M2 Nano control board and does it require any additional harware? (all these laser control software seem to require an usb key to work properly).
    Thanks again

Hello Signmaker, sorry to bother you again, but I've found no way to change the datum setting on my board from the software I have. Is there some other software that I can use?
    Thanks in advance,
    Simone
