You should be able to travel in the oposit direction. I think you have a sticky limit switch

You should look for a sticky switch near x ref position or at you carriage

    Try this:
    1) Power off on controller
    2) Push in E-Stop
    3) Press and hold . and + key
    4) Power controller on while holding the two keys down
    5) When screen comes on release keys
    6) You should see a small menu
    7) Key in #4 and 'input'. The screen should say "Check OT at powere on".
    8) Key in letter N
    9) Key in number 6, press input
    10) Normal screen should appear
    11) Move X-Axis down a bit then re-home. You should be fine.

    Good luck.

    r

    For X:
    Call up tool in MDI.
Take a light cut. Measure diameter.
You should be able to find a button that says "Measure". Input the number you just measured and push Measure button.

    For Z:
Where I work we set all tools to face of chuck and use G54 to move Z back desired distance.

    Good luck.

Your controller is a 6T. Very old.

You will probably have to make sure your tooling offsets are cleared with T0 and rotate each tool around by hand. Take a cut. Measure. Look at the actual machine position. Either add or subtract (depends on how your machine is set up) the number you measured from the actual machine position. This will be your X-offset. Enter this number in your tool geometry page.
