I'm kinda asking this pre-emptively.

I'm just getting rolling on welding up my 5x10 plasma table frame. I'm hoping to be doing the water table next week and getting the gantry built.

Once it's running and operating properly I'm considering a rotary axis addition.

Here's where my question is.... I don't need to notch pipe, which seems to be what every software I come across is aimed toward.

What software would be best suited to take a DXF file of, say, the outline of a fish, and wrap THAT around a 6" steel tube at 45* to cut it out?

I may be overthinking this and ANY of those other softwares will do it, but I'm not sure.

I'm thinking I'll end up running Mach3 on this. I'm running LinuxCNC on my mill conversion, but it seems like Mach3 has more software that will work to use for rotary operation in the future.... I do wish I could run LinuxCNC though.

Anyhow, any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'll be getting the CandCNC Bladerunner DragonCut system in a few weeks. Hoping to cut shortly after.

Thanks in advance!
