Fanuc 3M Manual Pu;se Generator incorrect, parameter?

    Hey Guys,

Brought back to life an old Kitamura Mycenter1 with the Fanuc 3M control. Everything appears to be in working condition except when I jog the axis, the control reads greater than what the actual movement is. Example, I have a total of 16" of travel in my Z, yet when I handwheel the Z axis manually, the control says I come up close to 31", so I know it's off somewhere.

I was looking at parameters 007, 008, 009 and was able to get close to an actual movement number but still not correct.

Anyone ever experienced this before and have any helpful tips I can try to do? Thanks!

    Matt

    Attachment 347100

Here's the servo on the Z axis, trying to see what the pulses are with this servo. I'd like to guess that it's 2000 since "2000M" is stamped on the tag. The other number is "M-412132"

    I'll keep digging...

    Parameters:

    17: 01010101
    18: 01010101
    19: 01010101

    17, 18, and 19 should respectively be X, Y, and Z

    30: 8000
    31: 8000
    32: 8000

Kitamura has no info as to what the ballscrew pitch could be in that machine.....

    Matt,

That 2000M on your motor is the part number for the motor itself... You need to take the cap off the top of the motor and look at the info on the encoder itself. You probably do have a 2000 count encoder, but they did make a 2500 count unit as well.

Ah I got it figured out, silly mistake. When I was inputting the parameters, I changed the parameter to have the machine read in Imperial instead of Metric. I changed that back and everything is well again. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I'm not sure, but to my mind coordinate grid may be in metric, while Fanuc will display moving in INCH on the CRT and vise versa
there are different parameters for displaying and counting
