Hello world!
My okuma multus b200-w doesnt index early in the morning when i turn it on. TC=1 leads to non stop spinning the M axis. M602 and M603 leads to alarm "L-tool index command". The only thimg that i find to help is manualy get out the tool and insert it again. I've called service but dont know when they will arive.
All works fine after reinserting the tool...untill next morning.

Also another problem (might have something in common?) I make a simple program from IGF for centering and the output code is with M241 which doesnt let me feed with more than 600 RPM. This happens with all cycles for drilling. I'm still new so take it easy with me xD

From what You tell it could be a tool clamp issue.
1. do You use high quality pull studs?
2. check if tool clamp surfaces (both tool and spindle) are clean.
What I would do at first place: open the tool clamp adjustment cover. Limit switches can indicate proper clamp while the index encoder doesn't see the indexing ring properly. Could be just a dirt.

A month later (sorry) the service guy came. He couldn't figure out what the problem is. He thinks there is no sensor for M tool index and the M axis motor knows the position (or something like that...its hard to translate). I dont know the quality of the studs but I cleaned both tool and spindle surfaces. The tool keeps spinning after i turn it on (when i type TC=1). After i manualy index the tool, it stops and i can change the tool and all works untill i turn off the machine. When i restart the machine, TC=1 spins the tool again. Still cant use drilling cycles with 600 to 1199 RPM ( I think it works with 800RPM). It just doesnt feed.

Probably faulty spindle encoder.

I realy dont know what to try except cleaning...

Thats what the service guy said. What problems can i expect in the future if it doesnt get fixed?

Yes but i have to wait cause the guy is not in the country right now.

Ok the tool is indexing when i change M axis to M242. I still have some hopes that the problem is software related but i will post when it gets fixed by the service guys.
