Order placed
order placed, apparently they ship out next wednesday (ish).
Looked at an MB2 for the use of ports 4&5..... problem is, this is a no go if you read the manual as only one of the three ports on the MB2 is an EPP/ECP (pins 2-9 as inputs configuration)..... both port 4 & 5 of the UC300 are pins 2-9 as input.
C10 [or cutom bob...]
I sold my MB2 yesterday, and ordered the first UB1 this morning.
I had some questions for Weerasak, so I also asked about the possibility of a daughterboard down the road.![]()

My build using the Ub1 will be 3 axis with a slave. I presume there is nothing to stop me using the B and C step and direction outputs in single ended setup for standard outputs (only 5v capable obviously)?
Robertspark, how many inputs do you need? Usually if you have a lot of inputs from a machine (say a converted mill with an ATC) you would be handling them with a PLC.
For instance, on my next build I will have a small PLC monitoring all the spindle and air sensors and running all the solenoids with just 1 output from the controller to request a tool change and one input to acknowledge the change.

Lol, I now have a brand new MB2 with an ESS installed ready to be sold.
You can use the io's for whatever you want, but yes they are 5v high impedance outputs but you can still drive a MOSFET.... Or my personal favourite.... Bts621...
I don't need that many inputs really, but outputs are always handy for other items... My plan has always been to have one all in drive box, hence flexibility
According to Fedex, the UB1 will be here on Wednesday.

Lucky duck.
I'm having to play around with the standard 5LPT.
I'm running UCCNC and your screenset today trying to get acquainted with it after years of Mach3. The UB1 would be helpful even just bench testing the software as it has indicators for all the IO's.
UCCNC looks and feels fairly straight forward so far compared to Mach3.
Ger, any ideas on the release date for the UCCNC version that will have the UB1 profile supported? I've looked on the UC forum but couldn't spot any info.
No, but it won't really matter if you're using my screenset, as I need to update the screen to support the UB1. until then, I'd just set the jumper on the UB1 to 5LPT mode. THe only difference between them should be the diagnostic page, I think.
Yes, I think it was a good idea on their part to make it feel a lot like Mach3, which makes it a very easy transition.UCCNC looks and feels fairly straight forward so far compared to Mach3.

I've been told that Monday is Mother's day (observed) in Thailand, and he's not sure if that will delay the shipment or not.

I have a Mach4 Hobby and a Mach4 Industrial license. I'm not using either one.
You could sell the Pokeys, and buy a UC300 ETH. UCCNC is only $60
I thought that Mach4 had auto tool zero built in?

Wow, that's an investment... Thought I was bad with a usb-ss + eth SS + mach4 hobby licence never to be ever used again the way uccnc is progressively developed with new development versions every few weeks to month or so. But an m4 industrial licence I would have said trump's the lot
Just need g41/g42 and turn and would have said they were very close software wise
