Well Ger21
I have sent you emails using the address from PayPal with no reply I will try here.
I paid for the screenset 2010 no reply
My emails should be in your spam folder.

Thanks Ger21
Hi Gerry,
Thanks for your screenset, I have been using it for a few years now and love it.
I do have a question here, I have made a few modifications to the main screen, on the bottom bar. I have the spindle speed there and it is the actual speed setting, it will change with the use of the override value, very good info.
I would like to have the federate also as an actual value, taking in the override value and displaying the actual value, this is helpful when making changes to find the best rate.
If you are asking what I think, then you want either DRO 55, or 813.

Thanks Gerry, just what I needed.
Hi Gerry, since I bought your screenset, I really did not use it much, I mostly cut air with some tests to realize how good the screenset was.
I've been busy all this time since about 3 months ago, and I did not touch the router at all.
But a few days ago, I needed to run multiple pieces, with 2 different tools, so it was a good opportunity to test the tool macro.
The result was that I could not do it, when running the Initial Auto Zero, in the first approach at 250mm/min everything ok, then retracts 1mm, and in the second approach at 25mm/min NEVER stops. I have to push E-Stop
Of course the led of the Probe is turned on and works properly.
Even I used a much more simpler macro with the original screen of Mach3 and it worked perfectly!, But not now.
Do you have any idea what is happening?
Mach3 Version 3.043.062
ESS + CNC4PC C62 BOB
PROBE + XHome + YHome + ZHome on same Port-Pin (2-2)
Thanks!!
Can you email me your profile?

Gerry, I come from trying several things, but basically I decided to create a new profile, I configured absolutely everything except the engines. The accelerations I left really low. This way it worked, but ... if I try to increase the acceleration it stops working in the second approach again.
From what I see it is a problem with motor tuning, mainly with the accelerations, and not only of the Z axis, but of all the axes.
The following configuration worked, but it is impossible to work with these values, its really slow.
Motor X and Y: 101.86 step/mm; 20000 mm/min; 25 mm/min2
Motor Z: 100 step/mm; 5000 mm/min; 25 mm/min2
Motor A (rotary head spindle): 111.11 step/mm; 5000 mm/min; 25 mm/min2
Normally, and conservatively, I use 10 times that acceleration.
What I will try tomorrow is to increase the microstepping in the drivers, and in that way increase the step/mm and the acceleration, to see if there is any difference.
I attach the profile that I normally use, but that may be corrupted. In any case, the problem seems to be another. Maybe some .dll or other corrupt file?
Thank you!
Do you have the latest ESS plugin?
Acceleration should not have any affect on the macro operation.
I'll look at your profile settings later tonight, but I really don't know what the issue could be. There are hundreds of ESS users using the 2010 Screenset without issues.
WHen it drives into the plate, what does the status message say?

Can´t remember any abnormal message.
Later I´ll try reinstall ESS plugin, I bought ESS last year, I guess I have one of the last plugins published. I´ll check that.
Gerry hi, so I just came from playing a little bit.
First of all, I send you my last xml.
The problem continues, but I don´t know why, Its a matter with Step/unit velocity and acceleration issue. Finally I found a combintarion of this 3 items that works a couple of times, but I don´t scream victory yet, because:
1) Not always works (and it is so frustrating). Sometimes works just fine, and sometimes doesn't stop in 2nd aproach, even a couple of times get stucked and freezed when touch the fixed plate for second time. And sometimes if acceleration is too high, doesn't work on 1st aproach. Really strange.
2) It should be independent of motor´s acceleration, I know you say that acceleration should not have any affect on the macro operation, but this is what is happening to me.
3) Another thing, I played a little with the frequency of the ESS, from 1khz to 4khz, then to 256hz, it seems that leaving it in 1khz is the best. I also played with the frequency of the motors, the values obtained by calculation are ok, but definitely these values matter.
I have to make a few pieces in the next two days, so I'll have more experience with this new configuration.
So this problem is far from being solved, what remains for me now is to reinstall from scratch, from Windows XP SP3, then ESS, Mach3 up to your screenset.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Thanks!!
I don't know if there are any other settings in the ESS plugin, as I've never used one.
Maybe try adding some noise filtering on the probe input?
Make sure you have the latest plugin, and version 3.043.062.

I loaded your .xml, and don't see anything out of the ordinary.
The fact that it's random may point to something in your configuration or installation?
The only other suggestion would be to create a new profile from scratch, and only set up the bare minimum for testing the auto zero.
Sorry, but I don't have any other suggestions.
If you can't get it to work, and would like a refund, send me an email.

Gerry I would never ask you for a refund, I've learned a lot with your screenset and that's worth the money, learn!
I don't think it's a problem with the macros themselves, but that suggestion to filter the input I liked, is one of the few things that are random in a system, the noise.
In what way do I do it? Inductance? Capacitor? Ferrite core? Any particular value? Where can I find information about it? How do I google it?
Everything else you mentioned I already did, the latest plugin, correct version of mach3 and even create a new profile just to test the macro ... so I'll check the installation and see the noise issue
thanks!!
There's a noise filter setting in the ESS plugin. That's what I was referring to.

Well, there was definitely a substantial improvement with noise filter setting.
In about 30 attempts of autozero sequence, only once did not work.
I did not investigate much more, I just adjusted the probe filter to 1.43 ms. The rest still in 0.00 ms.
For now it's all right, I'll see how to improve 100% later.
Thanks Gerry
I am having a problem with Mach 3 and 2010 screen set I have been using it for years trouble free. I recently had my hard drive re cloned if that could have anything to do with it otherwise everything else is running fine. The problem I am having it will not stop for tool change it keeps going and does the job with the first tool only any Ideas?
Thanks Lou

That suggests that the M6Start and M6End macros might be missing from the macros/Mill folder.
Cheers
