    I've been noticing a lot of people mounting those linear rails on cold rolled tube. I didn't think CR tube was straight or accurate enough to have parallel linear slides on them? Shouldn't people be experiencing a lot of binding or premature wear without machining the mounting surfaces flat first?

    This is a very old thread 2012, but it's good to see it's still alive, it was a good solid build

    This type of rail are very forgiving and some of the bearing are adjustable so the mounting surfaces don't have to be perfect

    The only problem with rail mounting like this the accuracy is only as good as the rail mounting
