    The use of external inputs

    I have MK3/4 controller and TNG software.

    I would like to connect four SPST-NO momentary switches to four inputs on the MK3/4 board (IN1, IN2, IN3, IN4). Each switch would have its own function.

    Switch 1 - Load program from a folder on the Desktop.
    Switch 2 - Activate machine
    Switch 3 - Homing (machine touches the home switches)
    Switch 4 - Cycle start

    One more requirement is that the machine wouldn't move until it is homed.

    Yes, this is possible. I'm just not sure what should switch 2 do.
