S3D? I've been working since the mid-nineties in the 3D software industry starting at SDRC, now self-employed for over 12 years. SDRC had a very good CAD system, IDEAS. The IDEAS CAM module was not that good compared to other solutions to that time.
Over the last 20 years I have not had much to do with CAM. But now I'm in a project where CAM is important. So I need just some "neutral" opinions.

So the best way to do this now is to do "demo's, which most companies let you do now... a good way to get this done is create a SAMPLE project, then do it in all your choices.

Your sample project will also allow you to speak to reality. So you could ask for more than someone's opinion.

For instance, we could direct you to Al Depoalo of BobCad, who could actually demonstrate making your part in BobCad, then you could compare the sane questions and responses in say, XXXCam or whatever....
