here an example of a robot thread forming application.
The threads for the different control cabinet mounting plates are formed with the help of a Comau NJ60 robot directly controlled from the Sinumerik CNC (part of the Run MyRobot portfolio). The big advantage in thread forming is that it's chipless. The core holes for thread forming are made in a pre-manufacturing step on a laser machine, afterwards the mounting plate is transported onto the clamping fixture in the robot cell.
