    Have you considered that perhaps it is a standard metric screw? 1.0625" is rather close to 27mm (actually 1.06299"). The standard pitch for 27mm is 3mm or 8.47 tpi. For Acme form threads the standard is M28x3 rather than M27x3. Just a possibility...

    I checked it just now with a thread pitch gage and it is 7 tpi.

    It works well now, I drilled and tapped the nut 1/4-28 for a grease zerk, it will work fine for awhile, just kind of irritating, it never locks up to where I cant turni it.
