Just received a notice from Autodesk regarding terms of service. Looks like change is in the wind. Anyone care to weigh in to flesh out the details?

Looks like the free ride is over, It was a good run while it lasted.
Did anybody really expect anything else?
It's still free for students, or personal use.
I read that for personal use the fee is $450/year unless I misunderstood what I was reading!
Yup, free ride is over.

From what I've read on the Autodesk website concerning Fusion;
Eligibility for free use of Fusion is for Individuals with non-commercial personal design projects and/or individuals doing home-based non-commercial manufacturing and fabrication. Also, hobby businesses that generate in excess of $1,000 per year are excluded. For those that are eligible for personal use can access all the "core" design and manufacturing capabilities. I presume that reference to "core" elements means those capabilities that everyone has had access to up to this point. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who may have a different take on this.
I was particularly concerned with what I've perceived to be a change of terms of service as I have predicated a primary retirement activity on doing CNC work. My use of Fusion is going to be an important part of that.
Chasing the links that start with the "We are changing our startup subscription offering. Update your existing subscription now" link from F360's main screen you get to this about startups:
Which to me, seems to be basically the same.Who is eligible?
Businesses with 10 or fewer employees.
Businesses (including parent entities) generating less than $100,000 USD in total annual revenue.
Willingness to share your story with the Autodesk Fusion 360 community.
Don’t qualify for startup use? Get a commercial subscription to Fusion 360.
And this from following the non-commercial link:
Again, I don't see much change.Who is eligible?
Individuals with non-commercial personal design projects.
Individuals doing home-based non-commercial manufacturing and fabrication.
Though, logging in, I get a different set of rules:
Eligible hobby businesses earn <$1000/yr income. Websites also have the $1000/yr number.Qualification details
Fusion 360 is available for personal use for individuals who are:
Using for personal projects outside of their primary employment.
Engaged in Hobby Businesses.*
Learning for personal use, outside of a company environment or commercial training.
Creating YouTube videos, blogs or other web content.**
It wold be nice if they got their various web pages in alignment.
Yes, and there have been changes to those web pages over the past 2 days as well.It wold be nice if they got their various web pages in alignment.
I'll wait until my existing subscription nears expiry to take action.
Free subscription revenue limit now $1000/yr down from $100,000/yr ? $1000/yr isn't even a good hobby business.
Anyone who says "It only goes together one way" has no imagination.
Personal use:
"Access to collaboration, data management capabilities, and commercial software translators (NX, Catia, Solidworks, Creo, and Inventor) is not included."
What's falls under "data management capabilities" ? My files have no commercial value so cloud storage is no worry, but the ability to access and export what's stored in the cloud matters.
Also I have no reason to export to something like Solidworks but losing the ability to import bites a little.
To anyone with FreeCad knowhow: What's the best file type to import ? I've only tested it with dxf and svg, the results were not good.
Anyone who says "It only goes together one way" has no imagination.
Step files have always opened cleanly for me.If you only need to import 2D files, maybe librecad would be more useful for that.
Been using this package as a hobby for many years under a free license. Now it says expired: but now. $495 per year. I’m sure autodesk isn’t to blame as I suspect people were cheating and using it for a business. The question is what is the alternative? Don’t expect that anything good will be free but this price is out of the hobby market.

It's still free for hobbyists.

I can tell you there is change coming one way or another on the personal use / Hobbyist use. They are considering options today. My suggestion to them was reduced fee for hobbyists. They were discussing limiting the use of Fusion by restricting how many files you can save at once...within a week...activate or inactivate files. They are working through options and giving interviews of users. If you get the opportunity to interview I suggest you do so and be honest with what could work for you...or others you know.
It's still free
Has anyone received a new email from Autodesk regarding the terms and conditions? I got one a couple of days ago, and it doesn't seem that nice. However, I asked a couple of friends, and most of them didn't receive an email from Autodesk. Honestly, I don't understand why do they change their terms and condition that often. Why don't they generate the best conditions from https://termshub.io/terms-of-service and work with them? Only add some new words that might appear due to the industry development.
