Hi
You can use G145 command only on two spindle models.
There is a sample program.
Code:M1 P30 NTRAN ( PART TRANSFER AND CUTOFF ) G50 S2500 ( MAX SPINDLE RPM ) G0 X50 Z50 M5 ( RAPID TO TUR INDEX POS ) X=[VPVLX-VZOFX]-.001 Z=[VNVLZ-VZOFZ]+.001 T0300 M289 M89 M77 G145 W=[VPWTP-VZOFW] M288 M247 M249 M151 G97 S2400 M3 M76 W.5 (G29 PW=80) G94 G1 W-.3 F300 ( CHANGE AS REQUIRED - FEED ON TO PART ) M248 G28 M185 M84 G1 W.669+.158 F300( CHANGE AS REQUIRED - PULL TO CUTOFF POS ) M83 M88 M184 G0 G95 Z.02 T0303 M8 X.88 ( X-POS CUTOFF TOOL ) G1 X-.08 F.005 G29 PW=80 G94 W2 F300 G95 G28 G0 X50 W10 M9 M150 M246 X50 Z50 W50 T0101 G144 M1 P40 NEND

Kurmay is spot on...
G144 W-axis control OFF command
G145 W-axis control ON command
This command allows control of the sub spindle (W) axis from a program using W commands to move it. It is typically used when transferring a part to the sub spindle.
G145 must be issued from both A and B turrets so that they agree they will now use W positioning. (works like a P-code for timing)
Once finished with W moves, use G144 to turn off W positioning.
Notice X, Z, and W commands can be used.. the X and Z for controlling the cutoff, and the W for controlling the sub (W) axis positioning for W approach, then gripping, then W retract (with torque sensing if desired) then retract to W + limit.
Best regards,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.
Hello at this moment i can transfer-cut, or move w, without 145, on genos p300
as i see it, if 145 only allows w positioning, then it acts like a safety interlock on some older controls ... so i am curios, maybe is more to it ?! I dont know ... like maybe there are some w tricks, accesible only through 145 ?
also may be only an extralayer of protection, as okuma considers safety 1st, and now they no longer require it ?
this just crossed my mind : w positioning is only posible in g140, so could it be that g145 allows w moving when 2nd spindle is master ?
please mr wizard, will you develop this a bit ? kindlyretract (with torque sensing if desired)
