got one of the red 2 plt ES-450 horizontals. 1 deg indexer(not the full 4th). only holds position to around .5(half) deg. I can unclamp the b axis, tap it with my finder, reclamp, and it's off .002in from the original position. even zero returning is only accurate to .5 deg. From what i understood on the other 4 or 5 of these i've run and worked on, the motor is used for rough positioning and the whole thing clamps down on toothed plate(something like a gear?) and that determines the actual final position. this one seems to perhaps have too much play on the mechanical end? never had this on any of the other ES-450s have tried servo backlash to the point it alarms the servo, no difference. anyone had this before? don't really wanna pull the table off, but it's rather annoying to have to true up the b axis every index to keep parts within .005 tolerance.
