    4th axis path following error

    Hello !

I am a bit new to cnc machining, I am trying to get my 4th (and 5th) axis to move along the other axis, I can use G01 with up to 4 axis simultaneously, however I noticed the 4th axis has a bit of a lag/advance no matter how small the G01 segments are.

The only way to reduce error I found is to reduce the feed rate, in the video I increase the feed a bit and you can see the error increase as well. Then at the end of the trajectory, the error comes back to zero.

I can see that the axis don't seem to start and stop at exactly the same time.

Is it something to do with acceleration/deceleration, servo tuning, precision control, etc. I have no idea.

Re: 4th axis path following error

I found a solution for an unrelated problem here : https://www.cnczone.com/forums/fanuc/287144-cnc.html

By putting all the accelerations (parameters 1620-1625) at the same rates for all the axes it pretty much solved the problem and reduced the error during movement by 95%.
