I am working on a machine equipped with a Mitsubishi Freqrol A500. There is not an encoder on the spindle or the motor. The A500 also does not have the accessory encoder board. Does anyone know if there is a parameter that can be set to be able hold the spindle stationary. Something like a spindle orienting command that would be used if the spindle had an encoder.

Hello, as I know, The Mitsubishi Freqrol A500 is a series of AC drives for controlling AC motors. However, it does not have built-in support for spindle orientation or position control without an encoder. The spindle orienting command you mentioned is typically used with systems that have an encoder to accurately position the spindle.

Without an encoder or an accessory encoder board, the Freqrol A500 may not have the capability to hold the spindle stationary or provide precise position control. The A500's primary function is to control the speed and torque of the motor based on the input signals and parameters set in the drive.
