Hi,
does anybody have the parameters for the Yaskawa V7 inverter.
Thinking of upgrading to a new Yaskawa GA500 inverter, Yaskawa tech support says V7 parameters will work in the GA500
Thanks in advance

Most parameters are the same, some may not be. IM me if you have questions
I got the parameters form Brian Denny at FADALCNC.COM
The parameter change when you go from a V1000 (V7 successor) to a GA500 drive. There's a Yaskawa document that details the changes.
In the end I auto-tuned the motor to the VFD, and set the max frequency (166Hz) and I was off to the races!
Hi All,
Can you share more info on replacing the old spindel-drive with this new Yaskawa V1000 drive?
Any help is much appreciated, not just by me it seems![]()
Not sure what info you are looking for,
*What is the make and model of the machine
*What is the Make and Model of the current spindle drive
*Motor nameplate info, attach a picture is best
*Company info, Name, address contact info
What replacement drive are you considering or are you looking for recommendation?
Any additional questions? Specific info needed etc.?
Its for a 1994 Fadal VMC 15 (model 914) with a Baldor Sweodrive 712-47-175-S001 (VMC15 7500 RPM Ridgid Tap, WYEDELTA (1) 13 ohm Regen)
I need to lookup the current spindeldrive type.
So main question is (once I get the current motor type confirmed): Which spinde-drive can be used and how to replace this Baldor Sweodrive?
(I see bits and pieces of messages on the internet that Yaskawa V1000 drive / Hitachi WJ200 VFD could be a real serious option)
Let me know if this helps
The best you can do with a Yaskawa VFD is to have spindle orientation. To do rigid tapping you need a servo mode which the VFD line does not offer, you would need the Yaskawa Sigma V SD system which would require a Yaskawa motor to have a high-performance (True) spindle drive,
OK that's clear, so if I would give up ridgid tapping, I should be able to replace that old baldor drive with a Yaskawa VFD.
As I don't have any clue yet on how to do it, what type of Yashkawa drive would I need?
And the next question then is how to hook it up to the Fadal HS88 control and to the default Fadal spindel motor and power connections. Here in Europe we have 3 phase 380/400 volts
