Hello, I have a DIY CNC that I made with Nema 23 Stepper Motor 425oz.in 4.2A steppers. It has a 48v adjustable power supply for the drivers. I have 4 TB6600 drivers that are being changed out to DM556.

I ran into a issue that the steppers would seem to stall and managed to solve this by lowering voltage down (not sure how low I ended up at). I now wonder if this was because the TB6600 couldn't supply the proper 4.2 at the higher voltage? Hence the swap to DM556 drivers.

I barely use the CNC at the moment. So I have this control box currently running a Mini mill CNC. This mill has NEMA 23 but they are 3A versions.
By swapping out the TB6600 for the DM556 can I set the drivers to the 4.3A and use it on the mini mill as well?
I guess I could flip dip switches every time I take the box to the DIY CNC but I am assuming the voltage would need to be adjusted as well?

I am using a PoKeys 56 controller card. I run Mach3 for both the CNC and the Mil, I just set up different machine profiles.
