    SL20 Coolant pump

    Happy New Year all!

Looks like I have 2 problems.

Coolant pump stopped working. 2006 SL20 240v 1ph standard pump.

Pump twist lock output measures 240 (120v per leg), does not turn off, not responding to M8/M9 or coolant button.(relay? location?)

Pump not turning on when plugged into live output.(Start capacitor?)

    High Pressure Coolant works fine.

    Thanks

Sounds like you may have a problem on the IO board. Coolant comes off of connector P43, lower right corner of the board.

Are you sure you have a single phase coolant pump? The late 2009 SL20 I had, came with the same 3-phase coolant pump as the VFs.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I was thinking the same thing. Breaker was not thrown. Definitely single phase. High pressure is 3 phase. Hardly ever use it. Will need to use it for a while. No real way to bypass the M8 circuit. Maybe spare Mcode? Thanks again Bro.

Have you read this post? He mentions voltage leak on that switching circuit and reading a false voltage with a multimeter. Translation: the circuit may be off but, still reading voltage.

I still don't understand what you mean by high and low pressure pumps. My SL-20 was as dead bare-bones as you could order and it had a 3-phase pump connected to that. Why would you use a smaller pump when you have that?

Yeah, if you have a 120V pump, you can always test it with regular wall outlet wires to see if the motor is okay.

Looks like this setup. Auxiliary pump and filter (240v 3phase) standard pump (240v 1phase).
Found p43, trying to trace if it goes to the breaker.
    Thanks

Have you downloaded the Electrical Service Manual from the Haas website archives? I see now that you have the same setup as through spindle coolant on the mills. Part of that is fed from P44 on the I/O board and comes from the power supply board. Yes, you have circuit breakers for both "coolant pump" and "TSC Coolant Pump." Both need to be checked since those are what supply power down to the I/O board.

Have not located the diagram yet. Have seen some technical documents indicating relay @ k6 relating to coolant pump.
I/O board does have plug in relays @ k9-k12.
Did notice a delay in coolant shut off prior to its demise.
    Thanks
