We have a 2004 Multicam 3000 USA machine with 4 Teknic 1500-561 servo drives! The z drive was running rather slow and recently has stopped worked and is showing a fault of 11 blinks (see trouble code in attachment)on the drivers!
We have the M24 board and would have to pay Multicam $3700 to come out and re load the drive with the proper parameters which is absolutely crazy!
I have orders a USB 4 strand cable and the molex connector and have the wiring diagram!
I’m wondering if anyone has fixed this issue on their own successfully and if anyone has the correct perameters for the z drive?

The machine is in great shape for its age and everything works except for the z driver but we are looking at upgrading everything and parting out the 3 remaining driver along with the two x motors, y motor, z motor, touch off probe, pendant, M24 board, transformer ect if anyone is interested! Locations Calgary Alberta Canada

Also has anyone done an upgrade with DMM tech or Teknic clear path on this size of CNC? What AC service drives did you go with?

If they guarantee its going to work....is it that crazy? I presume you use this machine for a business? With it out of action are you losing money?

If there are other solutions like changing servos and/or drives....how much is that going to cost?. Could be that 'I saved having to pay Multicam $3700 by adopting a solution that cost me only $5000....bargain'.

Sorry I should have mentioned that they will not offer any type of warranty or guarantee since they are discontinued/ obsolete!

If we do a full upgrade including servos and motion control we are looking at about 10k, but that would mean everything is new and we would have tech support through whatever manufacturer we choose to go through - masso g3 or centroid acorn and clear path or DMM tech!
So I’m more inclined to spend 10k for a guarantee than $3700 for a chance!
Also this is a 30 second fix with the cable/software and proper parameters - we are happy to pay but they want to fly in a tech to do it!

Hi,
if you have no certainty that the $3700 is actually going to work, then yes, I agree I'd be reluctant to chance it myself.

The more I pay for something the greater certainty I need that the item purchased or service provided matches the requirement. $3700 is definitely in that category.
