here is a first quick test installation of the SMF 2.017 forum with David's database. (Thanks for the database !!!)

It looks quite good at first, after I found out which database software and which PHP version the forum runs with, it went quite easily.

I don't have time today to familiarize myself with this forum software. Since I don't know the software at all I have to read a lot, especially to make the forum secure.

I'll make time for it in the next few days, maybe someone would like to help and configure the thing.

A major problem is that all attachments under the path
C:\www\forum2020\Themes\cb\
seem to be on Andy's server.
So it is not possible to use the old attachments.
The base url for images also goes to Andy's server

That is amazing! The images and attachments are a worry, but if the site ever comes up, there may be a means to capture them also.

The images and attachments are stored on a Windows server from Andy. The URL that was entered as the base URL for this begins as a normal Windows drive with
“C:\www\forum2020\Themes\cb ”

You will not be able to access the directories via the Internet.
If the forum works, you would have to download every single attachment.
Only the names of the files are in the database, the base URL is in the configuration file.
I don't have the original configuration file either.
Andy probably has his websites on a computer at home, not on a common server

Now I'll remove the database from this forum because Eddy said my that users personal infos are also in the database.

I had downloaded the file also, and had realised that was a sql database had looked at a few videos on MySQL and Postgresql, once I realised that this database could not have the images in it, but links I stopped.
I have deleted the database.

This is the database of the forum software.
Normally, I proceed by installing the appropriate forum software. A new database is created and installed. Next, I import the cambam database into this empty database.
There is always a configuration file within the PHP software in which the appropriate paths must be entered.
Only the file names of the images and attachments are entered in the database. The base path to the directory where these files are located is defined in the configuration file (settings.php).
You cannot guess the path from the file name alone. This is a secure installation, but does not help me any further.
It is also possible that in the original forum the attachments are in the “attachments” folder and the images are in the same folder. There is no “Images” folder in the installation, only in the themes.
Since it is not possible to understand this without knowing the paths from the “Settings.php”, this is a safe installation, but does not help me to find the images.

Maybe David can check if the folder “attachments” has any content.

No, as I said before, I can only access to the forum files through the admin panel but I have no access to the files on the server itself ...

To save the database I used the features in the admin panel (admin/maintenance/database) and seems there is no way to download attachment/images, the only option is "backup database" that give the file I shared .. and of course I only can use it if the forum is not down !
