I have an 840 d control that needs its bios battery changed every 30 days. This just seems wrong. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
What should the approximate life of this battery be. What could be wrong here.
Any input would be appreciated.

5 or so years for the battery, that little round lithium should last at least that long. I ended up soldering in a 2/3A holder with the lithium on ours, so I don't have to go through all the work. If yours is dying in a month, either you are getting old stock batteries or your MB has an issue.

I agree, my other machines batteries last at least 5 years as well.
I just purchased the machine and they sent me instructions on how to change the batteries after the purchase before I even had it powered up! Not good. I hope they've just been using poor batteries. I've sent away for the Siemens recommended batteries. I'll see whats going on then.
Thanks for your input. I hope I don't need to be looking for an electronic problem.
Hi bro i lost the data of my machine. can you please help?
I'm retired and sold the machine. I'm cleaning out a trailer next week and I'm sure I'm going to run across a spare hard drive that came with the machine.
Did you find the data?
I ran across lots of toolholders chuck jaws spare airchuck some manuals and spare boards for this machine as well as hard drives
I'm sorry to inform you that the hard drive I found was for my regular computer. The chuck and jaws are just garbage rusted up from one of my brothers old machines. Everything of any value went in the auction.
