I have been using this setup for quite a few years now without issue. Head to the shop today to do a sign. Anchor the board, start the computer, control box, and VFD. I change the bit to surface the board and go to hit the start on the VFD. That is when I notice the panel is not illuminated. I check breakers and confirm they are not tripped and have power on both sides. Check power at the VFD and it is good as well.
Last used was not more than a week ago without issue. I don't think there is a reset button on these either.
What I think may have happened is when I last used the machine and shut it down, I did not switch off the power supply to the VFD. The VFD was stopped but may have had the power left on. I'm guessing there was a power outage which would have affected the shop but not the house as it is powered by solar. Reading many pages on this forum, I found one item posted by Mactec54 which sounds like my issue, kinda....
"You can't use a Plug to Turn the Power 0FF to the VFD Drive this is a big No as this will damage the VFD Drive
It must be switched 0FF before you unplug it, meaning the outlet / receptacle has to have a switch to turn the power to the VFD Drive 0ff before you can unplug it, this can be done also with the Breaker for that circuit, Never unplug when it is Powered up
Same goes for Powering it up, if you are Plugging it in then the Power must be 0FF before you Plug it in, you then can Switch / Turn it 0N"
Not that I am using a plug to control power but "if" I left the power supply on, and the power went out... Kinda the same thing?
Any input on this? I can't seem to get the display to power up. If no resolution, I plan on replacing the vfd with like kind as it served me well until now.
Thanks,

Turn off the breaker, wait 5 minutes.
Some VFDs have capacitors that need to fully discharge before a reset can internally reinitialize.
