I have three different makes in my shop and the hyd-mech is the most convenient to use.
This one has the rotating head for cutting angles so the length of material always stays straight along the feed rollers.
It can cut past 45 degrees which is sometimes handy.
It has a very solid vise.
The controls are fairly user friendly; everything is grouped conveniently.
My suggestion is to find a dealer with different makes set up and running so you can try the controls. Some makes you have to do two or three operations to start every cut, on the hyd-mech once things are set you just pull a trigger for repeat cuts.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
