First of all I would like to thank all of you who participated in this thread. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute here as well in the future.
Does anyone have any "playing card" dxfs? I'm looking for anything related to spades, clubs, hearts, and diamonds.

Try this link, Dave. The files are in SVG format. You may need to convert them to some other format before you can use them.
SVG-cards, The first SVG cards deck ever created by David Bellot
The version 1.x files have all of the cards in individual SVG files. Version 2.x files have all of the cards in one SVG file. Be sure to check out the SVG-cards 1.x PDF version as some applications will take a PDF file directly.

Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
