Where to find square 22* inserts?

I have a couple tool holders I picked up cheap which require .25 square inserts. I have not been able to find these readily available. Anyone know where to find them?

    Thanks
    Matt

I think it would help if you had some tooling numbers etc..

This chart should help you get the insert number!

It's not what you take away, it's what you are left with that counts!

They are kennametal holders, just little guys, I don't have them here to look at the numbers but they are maybe 3/8 square and 2-3 inches long. They have bolt holes in the sides to screw onto a turret or something.

for inserts I just need a square insert that will fit.

    SPG 221, 222, 223
    SPU 221, 222, 223
    etc.
    etc.

I have looked at all the major internet sources and have not found anything cheap. All I have found is CBN and similar, I just need plain old C2, C5 coated carbide inserts.

    Thanks

Curious as to if you were able to track these inserts down? Everywhere I've looked, it's as you said CBN or PCD tools. I spoke with a vendor of ours and he said they will make them, but only in quantities of 100 or more.

You may want to contact one of the diamond companies you found and see if they will sell you the blanks.

If I come across something I will get back to you.

    Thanks pgs

I guess there is a reason why I was able to pick up these holders so cheap!

What size holder do you need. If you need somewhere between 20 and 30 inserts, I would be willing to supply the holder for free.

This is for a planned turret for a small CNC lathe I am building from the ground up. The holders I have are really small which is ideal for this small turret I am planning. It is only a hobby deal so it may take a while to use 20-30 inserts. I think I might go back to the source and see if I can find some holders accepting available inserts. If no luck, I might look into other options. I could use brazed bits for the turret but I found these little holders and though they would be perfect for it.

    Thanks
