    Mazak purchase question

    Hello all,

we are looking at purchasing a Mazak QT15 w/ the cam T2 controller. I am a little confused after doing some reading on this forum. Can I program this machine in G code? or do I need something special? Also, I gather that this control has some different features than most, can anyone tell me what they are? Can I store programs in memory for quick retrieval or do I have to load it every time? If someone can just help me clear a few things up that would be great.

T2 is an old control with a lot of limitations when compared to something relatively newer. G code was an option back then on it so make sure it has it. You can store programs but it has limited memory. Plenty of guys on here are still running T2s so I'm sure you'll get all the answers. It's been too many years since I've been on one.... or seen one.
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....

Thanks for the reply. I have verified that it has the ability to run G code. Do you know how they are at tapping?
