Post about somone offering a $100 probe?

I bumped into a thread that included a post from someone offering "home brewed" touch probes for around $100. Anyone know where/who that is? I can't find the thread now and don't even know if it was on CNCZone. This age thing is beginning to effect my brain!!!.............

    Smile Here is one.

I have seen another that is more sophisticated, but similar operation.

I just recently purchased one from him and I am very impressed with the quality of his work. Much better than i could ever hope to accomplish my self and much cheaper than a Renshaw or others. Of course, I ahven't actually tested it yet but it looks very good and mechanically it seems to function very well.

    THat's the one!

Yep, that's it. Can't believe it was in the Mach Support Forum and I couldn't find it. For $100, even if it needs TLC and a tune-up, it's a GREAT start. Glad to hear you're happy with the quality and overall look of it. I'm ordering one now!

Is there a marked for a used DeskCNC touch probe. The probe has a ruby or rubylike precious stone that touches the item to be scanned.
